Could we travel these days without our gadgets? I think not. With keeping up to date in mind, well-regarded online tech site, CNET, has made the decision to expand to print, a radical concept these days. In an interview this morning on CBS, it’s parent company, editor Lindsey Turrentine said that, among other objectives, the print version will serve to showcase the excellent photography they present, far better than can be done online. Interesting piece. Printed color is expensive. Color photos on line are not.
And I doubt any printed piece could compete with the W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L photos we have on TravelGumbo, right?
Even though the print industry is hurting, the advertisers still seem to pay a lot more per ad. I would think that’s a major reason CNET decided to do this.
