It is being said that the rich culture and traditions of any place can be seen in the food of that particular place. The royalty of Rajasthan and the tehzeeb of Jodhpur can be seen in the Jodhpur’s plush cuisine. The scrumptious Marwari cuisine is famous for its spiciness and richness. Be it the vegetarian or non-vegetarian dish each has its own charm and taste. But locals generally prefer the vegetarian dishes. 

Mawa Kachori

It is a delectable dish of Rajasthan prepared with mawa and dry fruits stuffed in the kachori coated with sugar syrup. Jodhpur is also known for its street food because it is a great food for a wide classification of places. You have not really tasted the flavors of Jodhpur unless you take your hand over the different classifications of Kachoris, which is a hit between tourists and locals.

Gulab Jamun ki Sabzi

In the next section you will list Gulab Jamun under the Sweets section. Gulab Jamun is a sweet to be honest. But the creative people of Jodhpur have put Sabzi out of this sweet dish. This is a very unique tasting dish and it can be found immediately in the menu of every restaurant in Jodhpur.

Kaju Draksh ki Sabji

It is made with kaju the draksh by the cellulose .Somewhat sweetish but adorable taste. It is found in the menu of every restaurant in Jodhpur. Cashew curry is a popular Jodhpuri vegetable which is perfect for festivals such as Diwali, Holi, etc. and for special occasions such as birthday and anniversary. The roasted cashew nuts are cooked in the creamy and spicy gravy made from tomatoes, onions and spices . 

Baati churma

This one is a state wide accepted delicious food. Baati is a hard, unleavened bread that is cooked in the desert regions of the state. It is popular for its long durability and negligible amount of water needed for the preparation. You can eat it with lentil curry.

Laal maans

This is a dominantly vegetarian state. However, in such a place, it is the laal maans that is famous non vegetarian dish. It is a version of spicy marinated mutton curry cooked using low flames, along with hot sauce made of garlic paste, red chillies, chopped onions and curd. This one is a must try if you are a non veg lover!
