'Hardy's Classic Tour' is a 65 mile scenic tour for classic cars in the UK county of Dorset in support of the Weldmar Hospice trust. This past weekend the 2015 tour 'touched down' in the grounds of the picturesque Art Deco period 'Riviera Hotel' on the edge of Weymouth Bay. The sweeping white facade of the Riviera Hotel provides a delightful backdrop to this collection of classic British and European cars mostly of the '50s, 60s and 70s which are all presented in showroom condition.

I have the VW ('69), also black, sunroof rather than convertible, just waiting for a single man of a certain vintage with a Porsche engine.  Failing the engine, the one it has works but it could definitely use a paint job.  None of us are quite what we were in 1969.

"None of us are quite what we were in 1969." And I, for one, am thankful for that!

What I love about this piece is that it is full of wonderful cars that ordinary people could own...not the Ferrari-budget crowd.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
