Gumbo's Pic of the Day, June 14, 2014: River Boats, Sarawak

These graceful boats are tied up at a dock in Kapit, up the Batang Rejang, the Rejang River, 3 hours or so in an express boat from the South China Sea. The pictures are part of a series you’ll see here in the weeks to come about my time in Borneo, in the State of Sarawak, on the Malaysian side of this very large island.
