Got 15 weeks? Cunard's got a Round-the-World cruise

If you've got a lot of time on your hands, Cunard has an offer for you: A 30-port, 6-continent 107-day cruise on Queen Victoria.

The ship will leave Southampton Jan. 20, 2019 (for those of you who plan ahead) and will return on Apr. 27. The ship is scheduled for a significant make-over later this year, and will return to service before the cruise with a number of new amenities and special cabins.

Full-price fare for the cruise starts at $17,579, but U.S. passengers boarding at Fort Lauderdale, second stop, will pay from $15,799. Cunard will also likely sell tickets for portions of the itinerary as well.

Ports of  call include Bermuda, Fort Lauderdale, several stops in the Caribbean and a transit of the Panama Canal. The route continues up the west coast to San Francisco, followed by Hawaii, Samoa, Tonga, New Zealand and Australia. There are also visits to Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam as well as Sri Lanka and the Seychelles. After that, South Africa, Namibia, the Canary Islands and home to Southampton.

It's not a totally new idea for Cunard, by the way: It's offered trips like this every now and then since just after the First World War.

If that's not enough of a trip for you, we've just found out that Viking Ocean Cruises, the younger sibling of the river cruise company, will send its next ship, Viking Sun, to be put in service next year, on a 141-day, 5-continent, 35-country cruise with 66 port stops. More info HERE
