December 14, 2017: Snow-shoeing on Mt. Spokane

Rising some 4000' feet above the city of Spokane to the south, Mt. Spokane's bulk often causes moisture laden air that escaped the Cascades to deposit a thick blanket of snow.  Conditions for skiing and snow-shoeing are often good in November, especially at higher altitude.

There are a number of snow-shoeing trails  on the mountain and these photos were taken on one of them after a fresh half foot of snow.  Even with a group, it was a beautiful and tranquil experience.
